Where your data is
Everything you enter into TAXKAYA — income, expenses, invoices, clients, products, filings, your registration profile — is stored in our Postgres database, hosted on Supabase, under the account you signed up with.
It is not a file on your machine and not something you can copy or delete directly from your device. Row-level security scopes every table to your account, so the mechanisms below — export and deletion — are how you exercise the same control a local file would have given you directly. See Privacy Policy §ii for how that scoping works.
Backing it up
There is no automatic export of your raw data today. The Reports and Books of accounts screens print any month, quarter or year to PDF through your browser, which is a reasonable stopgap for a point-in-time record but not a restorable backup of every field.
If you want your books kept somewhere outside TAXKAYA, print the periods that matter to you on a schedule you will actually keep, or email the DPO (see §iii) for a full copy.
Exporting it
A self-serve bulk export is not built yet — this is a known gap, named here rather than left for you to discover. Until it exists, email the DPO at support@genetrify.com from your account address and ask for a portable copy of your data. We confirm receipt within five business days and provide it within 30, consistent with your portability right under RA 10173.
In the meantime, the Reports and Books of accounts screens print to PDF for any period, and that requires no request to us.
Deleting your ledger
There is no self-serve “delete my account” button in the app yet. To delete your ledger, email the DPO at support@genetrify.com from your account address and ask for account deletion.
Deleting the underlying account removes every row that references it — income, expenses, invoices, clients, products, filings, your registration profile, all of it — in one operation, enforced by the database's own foreign-key constraints rather than a script that has to remember every table. We confirm receipt within five business days and complete deletion within 30, and it cannot be undone.
Deleting subscription records
If you subscribed, we also hold the limited records described in the Privacy Policy: which plan you were on, the period, and a payment reference. Requesting account deletion (§iv) removes these too, except where §vi applies.
Deletion cancels any active subscription.
What we must keep
One exception, and we would rather state it than surprise you with it: Philippine tax law requires a seller to retain records of sales and the receipts issued for them for five years, counted from the day after the filing deadline for the year they fall in. Where a deletion request covers a payment record inside that period, we retain the minimum the law requires — the receipt and the transaction it belongs to — and delete everything else.
We will tell you specifically what was retained and when it becomes eligible for deletion.
